Happy 18th Birthday Dina Sokol! .
Exactly @ 12 midnite on March 28th, Kakak Yana came down the stairs with a Smackinglicious Chocolate Cake and 18 lighted candles. Our dearest Dina squealed with glee and got the cake out of my hand. [I was scared tat i would burn the house down that night. Me & Fire is a no no.. I don't even dare to light up my bunsen burner back in sec skool and thus given special help during O Levels prac exam.. heh!] Oh anyway, Dina managed to make a wish and blow off the candles exactly at 12 while talking on the phone to the first person who thought that she was the First and Special one to wish her exactly at Midnite.. Banyak Cantik ah!
.
That day was a special & important day for me as i've not celebrated Dina's Birthday like forever. March is normally a school term and she's not in SG. Just 10 mins before her "official birthday', we were watching the reruns of "Pussycat dolls: The Next Doll" and she kept looking at the time and mentioned that her birthday is coming soon. "I need to pee", i said and ran up to my room to get the cake.. Well kinda felt guilty for eating a slice of tat sinful Choc cake way past my bedtime tapi it's ok, it was a memorable celebration! N not forgetting a very Chocolaty Choc Cake, I loike!! =)
.
Her Bday present will be given next week 06/03/07 during her Big Bday Bash.. Tat girl ah, sunnguh Lucky. Her parents are booking a VIP room in a popular Club downtown. 100 over frens are invited. Limo for us, shuttle bus for frens and a professional photographer tat nite.. Paaarty!! Will post up pictures of that nite some time soon okie... hehe!
.
That night on her Birthday, we had dinner @ HB Steakhouse, a Japanese restaurant! I Love Sushi.. Do you? heh!

Spring is Here!!
.
. .The days of Spring are here,
Warm, sunny days are near,
Flowers and bees, and birds in trees.
The days of spring are here.
.
ddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
.
Took the kids to the park as today marks the first day of Spring.. After months of cooping them up in the house due to the cold and miserable weather, an hour in the park did them some good. Oh of course they left after doing a few challenging work for Miss Liana not forgetting her favourite activity 'spelling'.. The bikes and skate scooters come out to play.. Me swinging on my favourite swing and them hanging on the trees.. A few round of tags and smelling purple flowers. Beautiful i would say!
.
Then the kids came running up to me giggling and in their oh so innocent LOUD voice they exclaimed, "Miss Liana look look look, they are smooching... That's disgusting!".. Oh boy, it was indeed nauseating! On the park bench a few feet away sits a middle aged couple.. Blinded by everything around them! By the playground? Many long passionate kisses? touchy feely? erghhh bluek! "Let's play a game!", i told the kids.. "Imagine them dissapear and so promise not to look at that direction ok.." Off they went to the other end of the playground. I tried staring, coughing, shrieking "CHILDREN, Be Careful... but to no avail. Then little Amy came and whispered in my ear, "The bench is too small for them to lie on." Arhhhhhhhhhhh... Miss Liana rounded up the Kids and pulled them away from the ghastly scene! But as we ride away there's something we have to say.. All at once we shouted "Ewwwwwwwwwww... Disgusting!!". That was funny... =)
.
On the way home we had a little chat that went something like this..."kissing on the lips is one of the special ways for adults to show they love one another. But for us children, we save our special kisses for mummy and daddy or nana because they love us very very much. No one else should get our special kisses ok?". Little Amy went "But when i become a princess, i MUST kiss my prince..." Thanks alot Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White and Belle. Oh Spoilers!!
.
But nonetheless SPRING is finally here... and that means i'm going home pretty soon. Hoping to meet my Prince Charming.. hmmmm could it be you? wink*

Love, Us...

My Spring Break with the Lutz Family...
.

.
I was away from home for 10 days while Aunty G and family returned to Singapore and visited their new 'homeland' Perth... I was feeling 'bluek' at first because i was left behind while they get to see beautiful sunny Perth and people back home whom i terribly miss sooo much..
.
However my stay with the Lutz family was Fun, Fun, Fun... They treat me super well and fed me constantly.. Thanks to them i've gained 4 pounds since my last doc visit! haha.. suker la nenek saya!!
.
I helped out Aunty Ani for the first 2 days in her front & back yard.. Pruning, mulching the bushes and soil. I tot i should give it a try since i don't think i'll have another opportunity back in Sg. You don't expect me to go under my block and start cutting the branches right? I learned alot and boy was it a tough job.. =)
.
I also caught the movie '300' with Yasmin, Armand and their friend Chris.. Well i came in the theatre not knowing what kind of movie it was and i kinda got freaked out by it! Blood, open wound, more blood, scary looking monsters & naked bodies.... Not my kind of movie! Sorry... But still it was considered a good movie la, since it depicts a true story. Go catch it...
.
Another new experience i had was camping with a bunch of new friends.. They were Yasmin's Boyfriend's friends... hehe! Finally i got to hang out with people my own age.. The campsite was an hour 30 mins away from home. It was a beautiful day on our way there but it turned ugly after 9pm. There was a Tornado alert, rain pouring hard, thunders, lightnings, wind blowing tents off the ground, everyone got wet even though they were in the tent and let's just say i won't be going to anymore camps away from Sg.. hahaha! When the rain begin to drizzle, i ran into the car and slept there all the way till sunrise. I had to thank that someone too for keeping me company on the phone for more than an hour.. Terima kasih ye! Oh ya, we did saw alligators and snakes in the lake... I didn't believe the signs at first but after seeing them i started to freaked out.. haha! But it was beautiful lake and we had a great view. I got the chance to see sunrise however i was alone on the pier while the rest are still snoring away. zzzzZZZzzZZZZzzzzz!
.
Aunty Ani is a great cook too.. We had steaks for BBQ, Roti John, Curry, Ayam masak Lemak cili padi, noodles, epok2, fruit salad, chicken ceasar salad! hai~ happy sekali! She even taught me how to make peach cobbler and pie shells. When i come home, i'll bake one for you ok.. hehe!
.
Till den, miss me!

"And ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation." --Kahlil Gibran .
Long distance relationships require a special willingness and understanding that can test love like no other type of relationship can. It requires constant communication and a desire to continually create your relationship, using the only real tool you have... your words.
.
~Thanks hunny for your countless emails, phonecalls & web cam sessions.. Y oh by the way, you look silly behind those shades. ahahak!

I Y NEW YORK
New York was fun.. Absolutely the best trip i had in my entire life. Even Disneyland & Universal Studios cannot compare to it.. Ok maybe it would be more appealing during my last trip @ 9 years old but not now anyway.
So how was the conference? It went well.. Some sessions are boring, but others keep us on our feet. Literally. We had to dance, shake, sing and do those stuffs we do back in ECH class.. I was even pulled up front to dance with the instructor. I tell you, i chose a great spot; the middle row, to the very end so that i don't need to volunteer or stand up if someone needs to go potty. We were asked to stand and unfortunately i was one of the tall lady among 200 other educaters.. Sungguh malu i tell you! But it was fun la. There's no use to be shy as i won't be seeing this people again anyway..
Well there were over 5000 people who attended the 3 day conference. On Fri evening, there was a special guest; Maya Angelou (whu is also Oprah's Mentor) who gave a speech for us Montessorians at the Madison Square Garden Theatre. She's the best speaker ever... She made us cry, laugh, reflect and even gave us a very good advice which i will remember for life. There was also a short performance by 'Sweet Honey in the Rock'. We sing, dance and for the first time i actually felt like i do belong in this montessori line. All these teachers young & old are so passionate about this women; Maria Montessori's philosophies and teachings.. I'm amazed at their dedication!
Sadly, i didn't meet any Singaporeans but i met other asian teachers who came all the way to New York for the Conference. It was a special occasion too considering it's the 100 year celebration.. Anyway they were mainly from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Philipines... But i did meet 2 teachers from Aceh.. Cool kan? So easy to identify.. They were wearing tudungs and instantly i came up to them and introduce myself! =)
Did a little sightseeing... Madame Tussauds Museum, Empire State Building, Rooftop revolving restaurant; The View, Times Square, Soho, Chinatown n 5th Avenue! Snap loads of pictures seen above. Souvenir shopping almost every single day. Personal shopping too... hehe! Cannot help it la.. Excited u noe see all those Big stores! Even visited 'H&M', a clothing store that was mainly designed by Madonna.. Quite affordable too! Got a top for someone from there and a top from Forever21 (men) for him.. hahahahaha.... Hunny now we can partner2 pakai same2 brand baju! I bet he's embarrassed now.. Sorry... =) Ooooh and i visited Coach store to purchase a 500 bucks bag for my cousin. I went there alone tau kak, late at nite somemore.. I hugged the paper bag tighter than my own purse.. ahahaha! Mahal ma... The design u chose kak, was the popular one.. Everyone likes it, i hope u'll like it too! Hand carried by me on the way back in the plane somemore.. =)
My mum would freaked out if she knows this but i bet sooner or later she'll find out too la.. I went around Downtown of New York alone. I even took the 'confusing' subways all by myself.. With a map in hand, turning it round n round i still get lost but i'm getting the hang of it by the end of the week there. I like shopping alone. No one to rush me.. I can take my time without having to look for people.. I spend over an hour alone in a store! Trying on, walking back n forth the aisles.. I loike... =)
So how bout a trip to New York again for my 25th Birthday? Can can can? But first let's concentrate on my 21st... hehehe! Ibu you promised liao... I'm waiting...
PS( Thanks ayah, nenek, obek and abang along for the extra spending money... It helps alot! hahaha... You guys are the best! muacks*)

Sometimes in life we seem to slow our pace
And in our hearts we're left with an empty space
We only think of the loneliness and pain
Then someone says there’s no need to explain
l
They do not have to be your very best friend
But maybe you'll find, on them you may depend
Even if you don't say what you’re thinking inside
Just talking is better than trying to hide
l
I've found people that put a smile on my face
And let me tell you, they've filled that empty space
So to the people I am talking about
I want you to know the small things really do count
l
When I talk to you I feel everything's okay
To you I owe a debt I could never repay
So when you forget about the lives you touch
Think of me, for it is you I owe so much
l
I hate to think, without you, what my life would be
So when you have trouble know you may lean on me
And I guess all I'm really trying to say
Is thanks, for it's the small things that have made my day
l
Some friends are forever while others are not... I'm glad that i know who these special people are! To you, i say thanks..
