I Y NEW YORK

New York was fun.. Absolutely the best trip i had in my entire life. Even Disneyland & Universal Studios cannot compare to it.. Ok maybe it would be more appealing during my last trip @ 9 years old but not now anyway.

So how was the conference? It went well.. Some sessions are boring, but others keep us on our feet. Literally. We had to dance, shake, sing and do those stuffs we do back in ECH class.. I was even pulled up front to dance with the instructor. I tell you, i chose a great spot; the middle row, to the very end so that i don't need to volunteer or stand up if someone needs to go potty. We were asked to stand and unfortunately i was one of the tall lady among 200 other educaters.. Sungguh malu i tell you! But it was fun la. There's no use to be shy as i won't be seeing this people again anyway..

Well there were over 5000 people who attended the 3 day conference. On Fri evening, there was a special guest; Maya Angelou (whu is also Oprah's Mentor) who gave a speech for us Montessorians at the Madison Square Garden Theatre. She's the best speaker ever... She made us cry, laugh, reflect and even gave us a very good advice which i will remember for life. There was also a short performance by 'Sweet Honey in the Rock'. We sing, dance and for the first time i actually felt like i do belong in this montessori line. All these teachers young & old are so passionate about this women; Maria Montessori's philosophies and teachings.. I'm amazed at their dedication!

Sadly, i didn't meet any Singaporeans but i met other asian teachers who came all the way to New York for the Conference. It was a special occasion too considering it's the 100 year celebration.. Anyway they were mainly from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Philipines... But i did meet 2 teachers from Aceh.. Cool kan? So easy to identify.. They were wearing tudungs and instantly i came up to them and introduce myself! =)

Did a little sightseeing... Madame Tussauds Museum, Empire State Building, Rooftop revolving restaurant; The View, Times Square, Soho, Chinatown n 5th Avenue! Snap loads of pictures seen above. Souvenir shopping almost every single day. Personal shopping too... hehe! Cannot help it la.. Excited u noe see all those Big stores! Even visited 'H&M', a clothing store that was mainly designed by Madonna.. Quite affordable too! Got a top for someone from there and a top from Forever21 (men) for him.. hahahahaha.... Hunny now we can partner2 pakai same2 brand baju! I bet he's embarrassed now.. Sorry... =) Ooooh and i visited Coach store to purchase a 500 bucks bag for my cousin. I went there alone tau kak, late at nite somemore.. I hugged the paper bag tighter than my own purse.. ahahaha! Mahal ma... The design u chose kak, was the popular one.. Everyone likes it, i hope u'll like it too! Hand carried by me on the way back in the plane somemore.. =)

My mum would freaked out if she knows this but i bet sooner or later she'll find out too la.. I went around Downtown of New York alone. I even took the 'confusing' subways all by myself.. With a map in hand, turning it round n round i still get lost but i'm getting the hang of it by the end of the week there. I like shopping alone. No one to rush me.. I can take my time without having to look for people.. I spend over an hour alone in a store! Trying on, walking back n forth the aisles.. I loike... =)

So how bout a trip to New York again for my 25th Birthday? Can can can? But first let's concentrate on my 21st... hehehe! Ibu you promised liao... I'm waiting...

PS( Thanks ayah, nenek, obek and abang along for the extra spending money... It helps alot! hahaha... You guys are the best! muacks*)
