Spring Carnival
May 4th, 2007
4.30pm onwards
.

.
Since we are a private school, the school's board of directors, parent committees, teachers and students raise funds every other month. This time round we organized a Spring Carnival. Bungee Trampoline jump, fossils hunt, rock climbing, bouncy playground, 'dunking' booth, face paint, henna, treasure hunt, BBQ stand, snow cone and many other attractions...
Parents are very involved and the turn out was great. Everyone had fun. Myself too.. I get to hang out with all the kids in school as well as those who i babysit occasionally.

I had a free Henna design on my arm while Ivar got his face painted and a tatoo on his arms! hah..

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Another major school event happened a few weeks back. Spring Gala.. An annual event @ Kingwood Country Club. Well our neighbourhood is full of rich and glamorous parents. Most of the mothers are not working. Dad's are CEOs of a company or something of that kinda level. Their houses are huge. Many of them have a golf course at their backyard. How cool is that?

Anyway on Spring Gala, each class would have to do a project to be auction off on that day. The highest bidder would get the project or gift or anything of that sort.. There's even a dog that was taken from SPCA and was auction off for more than 2 thousand dollars. The parents will go all out to be the highest bidder. Take for example Class 11. We bought a children's furniture that cost a mere 100 bucks from Ikea. We painted and decorated it with the children's thumbprint and names. Guess how much the higgest bid was? 1600 USD.. Aunty G also offered to cook Singaporean dishes for 10 people and it went for 2800bucks. They didn't even know Aunty G couldn't cook that well! ahahaha... Freaking rich kan this people! We should do something like this back home.. Raise money by auctioning off the children's work. =)

That's it! have a great weekend...

PS(Exactly a month from now, i'll be seeing you again...)
